Our Endowment
Endowed funds differ from gifts, grants, or appropriations in that the total amount of the gift is
invested. The library’s endowment—which received its first contribution in 1891—is a fund of
money or assets (like stocks and bonds) donated over time to support the library’s mission and
operations in perpetuity. A portion of the income is used annually to support the library while
the principal remains intact.

INVEST IN THE FUTURE
While all gifts to Morristown Centennial Library contribute to our high quality programs and our growing collection of library materials, endowments are particularly meaningful in that they offer a dependable, perpetual source of funding. Our endowment is designed and managed to provide a long-term, sustainable source of funding, ensuring the library’s continued operation, long after the donation is made. In this way, the endowment is managed on behalf of all Morristown residents: past, present, and future.
SUPPORT YOUR PASSION, HONOR SOMEONE YOU LOVE, LEAVE YOUR LEGACY
One of the advantages of giving to our endowment is the freedom to choose how your investment will support MCL. Endowments inherently bring about a profound impact because of their longevity. The perpetuity of your gift will help the library sustain operations in our community at a discount to all Morristown taxpayers.
Endowments are also an excellent way to permanently honor your family, friend, or a loved one. Your contribution today becomes part of MCL's endowment forever. This perpetual gift serves our community's shared legacy. Click here to get in touch with us about making a gift to our endowment.
