Because many people share this space for multiple purposes and there is already ambient noise from conversations and other library-related activity, our rules regarding electronics are as follows:

Because many people share this space for multiple purposes and there is already ambient noise from conversations and other library-related activity, our rules regarding electronics are as follows:
- Cell phone calls happen only in the lobby or, if available, in the magazine room with the door closed.
- Headphones/earbuds must be used when patrons are listening to music, viewing movies or otherwise using electronics with sound. Volume must be kept low enough so that it is not heard by others.
- Skype, speakerphone and other smartphone and computer-related functions involving two-way conversation are not allowed in the public areas, including the lobby. You may use the magazine room, door closed, if it is available.
