The Morristown Centennial Library is an independent, incorporated, nonprofit public library. The Board of Trustees has a minimum of seven and a maximum of eleven members, each elected for a five-year term. The Board is responsible for managing the library endowment, overseeing the library budget, hiring a library director, and advocating for library services in the community.
Board of Trustee Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 5 pm at the library or online if necessary. The Board meets only once over the summer, in either July or August. All meetings are open to the public. |

The Morristown Centennial Library Association was established by The Women’s Club, a group of citizens led by Laura Gleed, for the purpose of establishing a public library in Morristown in 1891, the centennial year of the town’s founding. The library is an independent, incorporated, nonprofit library, run by a Board of Trustees, that receives an annual appropriation from the taxpayers of Morristown.
