Library cards

Sign up for a library card

Any Vermont resident age 12 and above may get a library card at Morristown Centennial Library. Children and teens up to age 12 may get a card through their parent or legal guardian who is also a patron in good standing. We ask all new patrons to complete a brief registration sheet with basic contact information and permissions. You will need a valid photo identification with your current address. If the address on the identification differs from that on the registration, we will ask for proof of address, such as a printed letter with name and address of the applicant. Adults are guarantors (responsible for all materials borrowed) for their children and any other users to whom they have granted permission to access their account. **Effective July 1, 2025, we charge a $20 non-resident fee for folks looking to get a card who do not live in towns (Morrisville or Elmore) whose tax dollars contribute to the funding of the library. This small fee is less than Morrisville residents pay annually in taxes to support the library.

Lending policies

Patrons may borrow an unlimited number of books, with loan periods of two weeks for new books and three weeks for our regular collection. Renewals are possible if the item is not on hold for another patron.

We do not charge fines for overdue materials; we invite patrons returning overdue books to make a contribution to the library.
